Web Design from Cologne
colonius-apartments.com lets furnished apartments for stays in two Cologne neighbourhoods: Werderstraße in the Belgian Quarter and Friesenwall in the Friesenviertel. I built the site as a Contao agency in Cologne with the open-source CMS Contao.
The brief: prospects should see at once where they would stay – house, size, furnishings – and send an enquiry without detours. That defined the two focal points of the project.
The site is bright and photo-led: interiors, light, the view over the rooftops. The purple bar and the line “sofort loswohnen” carry the brand; the photographs do the selling. Technically it stays a maintainable Contao project – the client edits apartments and copy in the back end.
Maps use OpenStreetMap (Leaflet), not Google Maps. The booking enquiry has date fields and a captcha. The site is in German and English.
Two houses, one structure: Werderstraße and Friesenwall each have their own overview. Beneath them sit the categories – XS to L on Werderstraße, S to XL on Friesenwall, including a 60-square-metre flat with a terrace and a view of the cathedral. Each category has its own page with copy, photos and amenities.
From the picture to the enquiry: large photos lead through the houses. Anyone ready to stay lands on the booking form – with preferred dates, not a public calendar. How I build projects like this is on web development from Cologne.
